Filliers Vodka is a premium crafted spirit elaborated at our distillery in Deinze. This vodka is carefully crafted by our master distillers using only the best ingredients. It fully expresses the traditional craftsmanship of Filliers Distillery, developed after decades of distilling premium spirits.
Premium Vodka
Vodka is not an unknown spirit to our master distillers. Filliers Distillery took its first steps in the creation of a premium crafted vodka in 2006. Back then Filliers acquired the local brand “Van Hoorebeke”, which was at that time the oldest spirit brand in Belgium dating back to 1792. A legacy in the distilling world and creators of the first Belgian vodka.
Using the craftmanship our master distillers have, and building on the legacy of the first Belgian Vodka they’ve created a new vodka. Of course craftmanship and legacy need to go hand in hand with the quality the distillery instils. The master distillers keep this in mind while using locally sourced water and fresh grains to create a triple distilled grain vodka. Besides this pure vodka, they’ve also created two flavour variations enhanced with natural juices, free from artificial flavourings.
Belgian Dry Gin
The story of Filliers Dry Gin 28 already started in 1928. It was then that Firmin Filliers, a pioneer in distilling, developed the recipe for the first Belgian gin. Currently, this recipe forms the basis of today’s gin that is still distilled on a small-scale basis in copper stills. In this way, the process can be closely monitored and the quality & taste guaranteed.
Belgian Dry Gin
When Firmin perfected his gin recipe he used a combination of 28 different distillates of spices and fresh fruit. Moreover, this also was a nod to the year in which the recipe was created. Each of these distillates has its own typical aroma that gives the gin its robust and spicy character.
The secret family recipe was refined by the master distillers at Filliers Distillery in 2012 and is today known as the Classic, the Belgian Dry Gin 28. This forms the basis for the current gin range.
Barrel Aged Genever
Filliers’ Barrel Aged Genevers bring together 140 years of craftsmanship, know-how that has been built up generation after generation. The genever firing that was started at Filliers in 1880 is thus raised to a masterly level. The blend of the Barrel Aged genevers consists of 100% matured malt wine – which is very unique -, water and juniper distillate. Then they are put on Bourbon barrels made from American oak for maturation.

Genever is sometimes said to be the missing link between gin and whisky. Like whisky, Genever is distilled from grain, but just like gin, a touch of juniper distillate is added. This balances a ripe & round taste with fresh & spicy aromas. The ageing in barrel adds a rich depth to it. This maturation started at Filliers Distillery as early as 1967, which means that it now has the oldest genevers in the world, some more than 50 years old …
The Barrel Aged Genever range is not offered in the traditional stone jug. The premium range comes in its own bottle that refers in a subtle way to the distillery & its history. As a result, Filliers has managed to turn the consumption and the appreciation of genever into a high-end tasting experience.

The production process, the evolution of the taste and the tasting revolve around one crucial element, and that is time. It is thanks to this element of time that the barrel slowly but surely gives a flavor evolution to this whisky.
